Background
Before the college was founded, learners who had the financial capability would migrate into other towns in order to pursue further studies. However those that had financial constraint did not have a chance to acquire vocational skills. While some ended up doing manual work on the farms or other commercial jobs, others were not so lucky. They resorted into criminal activities.
Dr. BA Mthethwa colleges wished to give the opportunity to young adults after they matriculated as well as those that have always wanted to further their studies in order to make a living. In addition, the college was founded in the rural environment hence affording learners from the grassroots a learning prospect. The founders are also aware of the history of this nation with regard to scarce skills.
